The painting has a poem transcribed on it that expresses the sentiments of a young woman. As a child this woman had an imaginary horse, and this horse ran along side of her wherever she went even when she was in the family car. It would jump ditches and telephone poles to stay with her. Then one day the horse disappeared. She says, "I believe he disappeared when I kissed a boy the first time, the trembling of my heart must have frightened him away" VENDU
